NEOM - THE EXPLORERS

SOVEREIGNS spent 15 days with 13 leading Unsplash & Getty Images photographers capturing regions of NEOM yet to be explored.
Our task: document the journey of the photographers. Their task: capture the essence of what it would feel like for a viewer to walk beside them in a region unknown to most of the world.
“Every day was different to the last,” says SOVEREIGNS director Simon Morehead, “we’d wake with an idea of what we’d face that day, but it wasn’t until the sun rose over the dunes or through the mountains that we’d realise just what surrounded us. Every angle, turn and change of light gave something special to capture. It was endless 'pinch yourself moments'. The welcoming nature of the locals, the opportunity given from NEOM and VAMP to be a part of the project, and the energy of the land inspired CRATER to ensure that our story was shaped to be the best it could be told.”
The 60" promo is one of over 20 films produced for NEOM with a 4 minute BTS doco telling the story of the photographers and the land and the ocean in which they explored.
The stunning visuals were captured by award winning cinematographer Louis C. Brandt ACS, edited by Rachael Goldsworthy, SOVEREIGNS and Christopher Deeks, music composition and sound by Jonny Higgins and colour grade by Jonny Tully (Cheat It UK), Joakim Rissveds & Julien Chichignoud.
